Mamuka Gvilava

Mamuka Gvilava, native of Tbilisi, Georgia, is specialized in a wide range of environmental subjects, with over 25 years of experience with cooperative projects in Georgia, Caucasus, Black Sea region and Europe. His expertise includes earth observations, climate change assessments, green design and construction, nature based solutions, as well as strategic (SEA) and en- vironmental impact assessments (EIA), with a portfolio of assessments and reviews of numerous plans and projects, including spatial planning and energy sectors. He directed the World Bank and Global Environment Facili- ty supported project establishing Kolkheti wetlands and marine protected areas along the Black Sea coast of Georgia. Currently coordinates inputs of Georgian partners into several European research and innovation blue economy projects. Mamuka Gvilava serves the Black Sea Commission as the Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) National Focal for Georgia and for accomplishments in the field the Black Sea Medal was awarded in 2011 by this intergovernmental body.
