The so-called DKD Bridge building in Gldani is one of the landmarks of the neighborhood. Inspired by the Ponte Vecchio the architect Teimuraz Bochorishvili intended to create a multifunctional pedestrian bridge connecting the two parts of the micro-districts.
Photo exhibition held in the frames of Tbilisi Architecture Biennial featured eight Georgian and international photographers and artists.
The event took place in active public passage of Pedestrian Bridge in Gldani district. The brutalist building inhabited with IDPs, cable TV stores and a huge kick-boxing halls transformed into a photo exhibition space without losing its identity.
The exhibition focused on visual storytelling and reflection of the social, political and historical influences that could form todays urban layout.
The context ranges from the late 19th century photographs of Tbilisi exhibition pavilions to todays active conflicts, from masive social impacts to todays personal reactions.
